Reviews!
BPAL package arrived today! YAY!!!! I ordered two bottles and received four frimps with them. Weird thing--all the imps have a spiritual element to them. Kind of interesting! That may be because of Ave Maria Gratia Plena, or it could just be coincidence.
Schwarzer Mond - The keeper of secrets: opoponax, Tunisian black amber, night musk, antique patchouli, zdravetz, terebinth, myrrh, and Pimenta racemosa. This is a beautiful scent, and has the lovely bonus of having the coolest label! This was the second option for the Black Moon, and it depicts a snake or dragon that is attempting to swallow the moon. Anyway, this scent starts out incredibly strong but almost immediately mellows out very nicely. My mind interprets this scent as vaguely spicy, though I don't see any obvious spices mentioned. This is just such a beautiful blend and it makes me incredibly happy. If I was a cat I'd be purring right now. >^,,^<
Eve - The spirit of temptation, the essence of lost innocence. Apple blossom, rose, ylang ylang and golden honey. This is very pretty and light, but really not for me. I'm unsure of what it is I don't care for, because it is pretty.
Les Infortunes De La Vertu - A pain-tinged, pleasure-soaked blend of leather, oakmoss, orange blossom, amber, and rose with a breath of virginal French florals and a hint of austere monastic penitential incense. This smells exactly like you'd think it would after seeing the notes in it. It started out very light on me, but after 20 minutes it's still hanging in there! This is an interesting scent but not as much as a number of other ones so I'll be swapping this one out.
Sacred Whore of Babylon - And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth. An ancient formula that inspires unrepentant decadence, lechery and debauch. Err, very perfumy and not at all to my tastes. So many people like this one that I'd love to smell it on someone who it worked for, as it's kind of icky on me.
Kathmandu - The scent of sacred incense swirling up the steep slopes to Swayambhunath Stupa. Saffron, blessed sandalwood, Himalayan cedar and the miraculous lotus of the Buddha with chiuri bark and Nepalese spices. Wow, cedar and sandalwood are definitely at the forefront of this one! This one goes on very strongly and is definitely very bracing. After 20 minutes it's starting to fade and go a little hollow, but it's still nice. I think I'll keep this for those morning walks when you need a little 'pep' to get going.
So to recap: Totally LOVE Schwarzer Mond! Already knew I loved Ave Maria Gratia Plena. Very glad to have tried four new scents as the frimps, but only Kathmandu is a keeper of those four. ^___^

I wish I'd tried the Black Moon/Schwarzer Mond...but I was really strapped for cash...and as it is, I'm very much looking forward to Kindly Moon!

Being short of cash is no fun! Kindly Moon does sound quite lovely. Hopefully you'll love it so you don't have to regret missing out on the BM/SM.
btw--I've only seen red squirrels in your icons and posts. Do you have the grey ones as well? Just curious, because around here we have both but I tend to see only the red ones in the yards around here, and the grey fluffy ones out in the cemetary (that's where I walk with my dog a fair amount of the time).
