HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS DEMAND WARS
IN EASIER-TO-FIND COUNTRIES Satire Wire sure has some hysterical stuff.
Couldn't post anything this morning (wouldn't even READ comment pages, never mind post), so I took a ton of tests that I'll post the results to later or tomorrow or something. :o)
We got hit by a huge windstorm on Thursday and were without power until 5 or so last night. O.o That wasn't fun, but we actually made it through it without too much mishap. Thank goodness for the wood stove, though. Even rescued all the thawing food in the freezer and made a big stew on the woodstove saturday night...lol, that was an adventure, but it was yummy. Anyway, thankfully relatively little 'huge' damage was done and, as far as I know, no one died, so that's good. There's lots of wind/water damage and lots and lots of debris, but overall everyone came out of it okay.
Work was without power on Friday, so I finally got a three day weekend. Hah, one without power, but still, it was nice not to have to work for once. Went to Target and found way too much fun stuff, then went out to lunch at Sizzler with Mom. That was fun, and then came home and did what housework I could do without water/light. Discovered that while we do have a plethora of candles in the house, we have very few batteries. lol. Will have to be more prepared in the future, just in case. It is utterly amazing how COLD it gets without the heater on, even when you don't normally have it up high. What's really strange is how incredibly early it is when you start getting tired when it's all just candlelight with no tv or books or anything to keep you going. Or maybe I'm just that worn down right now, which is also possible. Hmmm. *shrugs* Anyway, just glad we're up and running again. :o)
