Soundgarden just announced that they have been playing together and are planning on recording an album this year!! Too utterly cool. I'm glad to hear it, because I would think creating new music together would be part of the point of reuniting the band...yes? lol.

Got my hair cut last night and I love it!! I'm actually going to be growing part of it out (tops/sides), but went shorter in the back. It feels great! Need to figure out how to use the flat iron so I can change it up more, though. LOL.

Why did it just start pouring? I was going to go out and walk, but maybe I'll wait a bit longer. lol.

Neat article - they asked Adam Lambert about his favorite artist and song for the year. Which reminds me that I still need to pick up that album! It says it's her fourth though, so apparently I need to pick up the 3rd as well. Oops!

Lady Gaga is delightful and weird. Finally picked up The Fame and The Fame Monster, and love them both. I can't tell you how much I'm loving Telephone and Teeth right now. LOL.

Work has it's irritating or chaotic moments, but overall things are going well. Glad it's almost the end of the week though. The mattress place on my way home has a floor-model clearance going on right now, so I should stop procrastinating and finally stop and see about getting a new mattress. Except we have rain forecast forever, so I have to time it for when we have time to unload and not leave it out in the truck.

Rocky has been trying to steal Nate's bed for weeks, and now Laylah has decided that she wants to share it with Nate. Except Nate can only tolerate sharing for so long, then he leaves it to her. So funny to see a little cat in the middle of a huge dog bed! LOL. My dog is silly!

In listening to my sister's iTunes for new music, discovered Tracy Grammer, a lovely singer who reminds me of Dar Williams. She had the Flower of Avalon album, which I'm quite enjoying. One of my favorites is Preston Miller, though I have to wonder about him and his gullibility for midnight meetings. ;o)

TGIF

I'm so glad that it's Friday tomorrow. Well, a virtual Friday! Our computers freaked out today and stopped printing, but thankfully our computer guru got things up and running again in a matter of 20 minutes. Whew!

My sister and I will be going to see Pearl Jam next month!! We're both thrilled! And as a bonus, while they may not be in Oregon, they're just over the Washington border so there isn't a six hour drive involved. YAY! lol. It should be absolutely awesome!

Watched Guy Fieri's Chefography today - he's such a character. Love him, but never catch his actual cooking show. Love the Diners Drive-ins and Dives, though!

Another lovely thing about Fridays is that my coworker isn't two feet away from me (her day off), so I can play my music at a level where I can actually hear it most of the time. lol. Yay!!

Well, I'm clocked out for the day. TGIF. But all the managers are leaving early or are already out of state, so I need to stay and set the alarm when everyone's out. So, I'm playing on the computer. Yay!

Dashboard Confessional is posting a bit of a blog about their tour this year. Pretty cool! Neat to see a slice of the tour from their perspective. I must order the new album soon. Don't think next week's concert is going to happen, but hopefully next time they're in the area we'll get to go to it.

Hmm

Happy Friday!!

Through last fm I have been exposed to some wonderful artists who are new to me. Sia is one of my favorites of those. Will have to try to pick up one of her albums and truly explore her music. Just seeing if this works in my journal:

Continuing on the earlier trend of not being overly productive, I have videos to share!

Also, some of you will be happy to know that I broke down and ordered the first season of Supernatural. And NCIS. Both were used and at a great price, at least! :)

Morten Harket from a-ha!! It's been years since I've seen them on tv or videos or anything. The long hair is not ideal on him, imho! Or maybe that's just because it's so different from what I'm used to seeing him in. *g*

Mostly Norwegian. Still fun to watch!

Can't Take My Eyes Off of You - Don't know if it's actually in the movie that starred Mel Gibson & Julia Roberts, but it's a cute video nonetheless. Morten has such a beautiful voice!

Graham Norton interview - hilarious! "...but it's an english flag" and the jumpers just made me laugh! too cute!

Interview w/Morten! Haven't had time to watch it.

*sigh*

I need a day off just to recover from my days off. lol. I'm terribly behind with LJ friends and comments, but hope to catch up Sunday evening or Monday afternoon if I can wrangle it off. I'm offline for most of the weekend.

Does anyone know how to work with Windows Media Player? The one at work was sending the songs I played on it to my last.fm account, but it shut down all external plug ins last week and no longer records what I play on it for last fm. I don't know how to make it try the plug in again, as things were not working well last Friday with all of our online items.

Speaking of last fm, I just found out that you can play other people's favorite songs! Though it only played one of his. I have the feeling almost all of his favorites are Soundgarden and that doesn't work so well for playing a radio station. Oh well, I'll try it again sometime!

Anyway, gotta get ready to go. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. ^___^

I have only watched Chris Cornell's Black Hole Sun and Corinne Bailey Rae's Put Your Records On, but these are nice videos from Live Earth. He's got quite a few artists from Live Earth up, so that's pretty cool.

Today was pretty good. Slept in, which was much needed. Had a nice day with the family and Heather & Michael. Took new pictures of the garden, the trailer to prove it's occupied (govt is so annoying sometimes), and a couple of the cattle.
dragon_moon: buckskin horse (fiona apple)
Thought this was a pretty chart:

(I had D/C on repeat all morning at work. Added up to a lot of songs! lol.)
dragon_moon: buckskin horse (betta_reno)
Hallelujah, it is Friday. Life is good.

My coworker barely passed the third section of the PCA course (physician's chart auditor) - by 4%. Which does not bode well for me!! Ack. Oh well, there's no rush on it so I'll just take my time and hope to do as well as possible.

Finally figured out how to get some more songs on last.fm without being able to scrobble them myself. If they have the little blue or gold arrow in front of them, you can add the entire track to your playlist. Yay!! Working out great so far. Still can't get some of the songs (only 30 seconds, etc), but it's better than nothing. I got a whole morning of Dashboard to play on my work computer this morning, but it wouldn't register any new songs for the afternoon. Though, when I got home, it did seem that it had registered some. Maybe it was just my work computer being weird. God only knows. lol.

I'm off for the weekend. Poor Sven shall be all alone. hehe. If all goes well at the Black Sheep Gathering, I shall have sheep pictures later in the month. Be interesting to see some of the more 'unusual' breeds in person.

Wow, tannerCKG made a really awesome still-picture video clip of Chris Cornell's Roads We Choose. I hadn't heard the song before, but it's really cool. I'll have to find out what it's a B-side for or see if my sister can find it on iTunes. ;D

There's the link for the video clip, or I'll attempt embedding it under the cut.

Okay, so [livejournal.com profile] heyrenata was talking about this song that she heard that was hysterical. Turns out to be "Ticks" by Brad Paisley. It does indeed have great lyrics and a fun beat - you can preview it at his blessedly un-blinky MySpace page. ;D

Here's a small sample of the lyrics:

and i wish i was your beer
and in the small there of your back
your jeans are playing peek a boo
i'd like to see the other half
of your butterfly tattoo

cause i'd like to see you out in the moonlight
i'd like to kiss you way back in the sticks
i'd like to walk you through a field of wildflowers
and i'd like to check you for ticks

Absolutely disgusting if one were to actually find a tick, but otherwise it's cute and catchy. ^__^

oOooh

Finally sitting down and actually listening to Corinne Bailey Rae's album. OMG--gorgeous!! Her voice is just beautiful, and the music is lovely. A bit mellow and jazzy, but complements her very well. Mmm.

Today has been a pretty good day. Went walking with Nate this morning even though it was freezing! Sheesh, isn't today the official first day of spring? Oh well, we currently have sunshine and a bit of warmth so that's good. :D Then caught up on the CSI eps for the week, and headed out for errands. One of my packages arrived this morning - Propaganda has the yummiest soaps! Mt Rainier is absolutely delicious. I've enjoyed my villainess soaps, but I think I may just have to switch if they continue to be as strong smelling and foamy as this one is right now. Weighed in and actually lost .5 pound, whew! Then ran over to the mall to see if Bath & Body Works had any new products in their black cherry vanilla scent - of course not. But I did get the mint shampoo to go with my mint conditioner, and got their gradual tan stuff since it was on sale. Hope it works, because it smells great! Got the tangerine and verbena options, and then the Pineapple Mango room scent (it was an impulse buy because I asked her about the candles which were sold out, but this was only $2 more and is awesome!). Then I came straight home so I wouldn't find anything else more I had to have. LOL.

As expected, I didn't work on the closet or garage, but I did rearrange and dust both book/model horse cases. I'm not sure that I gained any actual space, but changing things around was fun anyway. I'm tempted to start on the closet later, but that may be a weekend thing.

http://www.just-pooh.com/tao.html

I'd kind of forgotten about the Tao of Pooh and the Te of Piglet. A friend introduced me to those books a few years ago, and I quite enjoyed them (though if I was to be honest, I prefered the Tao of Pooh more...probably because it was more of an overview and not so in depth as the other.) The only thing I felt bad about was how poor a light was shown on some of the characters! Anyway, I should dig my books out and read them again this year.

Today went pretty well. Had planned on adding a quart of oil to my truck today at lunch, but couldn't figure out how to get the darn hood open. I could feel where it was latched, but couldn't find the lever to push on to actually get the hood open. Gah. Guess I should plan on getting my oil changed this Wednesday then, and see how they do it. *G*

Another music artist I want to check out:
Matt Uelman - Blizzard North game soundtrack. Never heard of that game, but one of the songs they play every so often sounds like Metallica's intrumentals. Awesome!
