For the first time in years I actually got to watch a fair amount of the Derby preshow and the actual race itself. Very fun! I really wish you could watch more races throughout the year, because you'd have a better idea of the horses in the race. Regardless, it was cool. And the occasional clip of races from years past was really awesome. Got to see Native Dancer and Citation, whoooo! Here's more on the race and the entrants. Funny Cide (Distorted Humor x Good Cide...his name is way cooler when you know the parentage) ended up winning the race--both the first gelding to win since 1929 and the first NY-bred horse to win. Way to go!
