My friend's parents got her a/c...man, it does make it nice on a hot afternoon.
Today started out weird - our mail server at work was down, so I couldn't do my normal work at all. And then we had meetings from 10:30 to 3:00...but these actually were good ones. The first one was from the domestic abuse center down the road, and how to offer their assistance if any of our patients say anything relating to that. Very interesting discussion, and also some very good points were brought out - that it can happen to anyone, basically, and that you can't simply spot abusers by their gargoyle head. heh. Too bad. :o) Going to have to look over all the paperwork again. And it's VERY interesting how much can be categorized as abuse, it's not just the physical or even the emotional abuse that I'm more acquainted with, but also forms of manipulation, passive/aggressiveness, refusing to work, etc etc....all issues of Control. At least one of my major buttons is a huge sign of an abusive person and I'm already on the lookout to avoid a relationship with that type...the people who cannot accept responsibility for a single thing and blame everyone else for *everything* that happens in their life. ARrrrrggghhh. Even if your partner never ends up being physically abusive, the emotional/spiritual/etc abuse can be so devastating. Then the next meeting was on the more specific issue of violence in the workplace - whether it be an angry patient, a threat phoned in, or a coworker. It's distressing to have to think about those things, but it's good to have some plans in place in the event that something ever does happen. O.o Then the last one was more administrative and what's happening, what's changing, what's still a WIP.
So...we had no official lunch, but had some goodies. One of the other offices sent over a Euphoria Chocolate basket....chocolate covered cookies of all sorts. YUM. The sugar high was well worth starving for. *G* Though the almost-headache I have now isn't. Will have to break down and made dinner soon and have something to combat the headache with.
Why are all bills due at once?? Shouldn't they spread it out a bit more? I simply can't stand it and can't wait for it to be payday so I can stop stressing about it for a bit. Ack!! And I need to get the oil changed in my truck...and mail out the package to J...*sigh* Maybe Saturday, I'll run to the PO and just get it over with. I dunno.
KoRn's new album came out! It's awesome. I couldn't get the video thing to work on it, but that's not shocking, those things never seem to work on my computer. lol. I HOPE that they end up coming out this way on tour! Be just my luck that the timing won't work out, but maybe it'll work out anyway! :o)
