I'm basically just maintaining today. I am not feeling inspired at all at the moment, and just want the week to be over. It's too damn hot at the office, and then you go outside and it's just as miserable. I love the sun, but I hate that suffocating, hot, miserable, melty feeling. Ugh. What's really sad is I hate snow and ice just as much, so....I'll just stay here. The summers get miserable but it's usually not 100% of the summer....usually. lol. Supposedly we're going to have thunderstorms but so far the sky looks really, really clear. *sigh*

Slept lousy last night. Took forever to get to sleep. I HATE it when you go to bed and just stare into space, waiting to drop off into sleep and not having it happen. Arrrggghhhh. Next thing I know the alarm is going off and I'm staggering across the room to turn it off. Uhh....no, that wouldn't have *anything* at all to do with that caramel frappuchino. *giggle* I'm used to the caffeine in sodas not seeming to affect me, though, so I didn't really think of that til now. Hmmm.

Since I'm in complaint mode, I have just one more. I hate having something really nice for lunch, but it's not *quite* enough to make it where you can last the whole afternoon. Because I never have any really good, easy side dishes on hand. Chips/crackers are easy, but not particularly healthy, so I hate to take those. Does anyone have any simple recommendations? I'm tired of buying my lunch all the time. I actually have leftover coleslaw that I'm taking tomorrow, to go with my Lean Pocket. Uhm...yeah, not the fanciest thing, but it's better than some of my other choices. hehe. I think I'll get better about this further down the road, but now it's too hot to cook and I am simply too frazzled to even want to cook anyway right now. Bah. Just a low mood sort of day. I hope to be rebounding shortly. :)

well there's always granola bars, fresh fruit, baked potatoes, yogurt...soba...

Soba is really easy to make--take some top ramon, throw in a couple eggs, some chopped up veggies (onions, bell pepppers, brocolli heads, maybe some garlic...and I really like to use bean sprouts too) and you're good to go. I like to add teriyaki sauce to it as well. You can cook that at night and bring it to work in a thermos, or just tupperware and reheat in a microwave. That's more of a main course though really.

or you can take some cheese, tortillas, and make a cheese quesadilla--maybe even throw some lunchmeat in it as well. Hell you could go the whole nine yars with refried beans and/or ground beef if you wanted to make a meal of it...but if you did that i would recommend a refrigerator.

just a few ideas.

We've got a refrigerator and a microwave at work, so that would work. That Soba actually sounds really good. Thank you for the ideas, they do help. I'm okay with being creative with dinners, but lunches throw me for some reason. heh. And the baked potatoes or fruit would be great as side dish. I appreciate your suggestions. :o)
