Where does the time go, eh?
Aug. 12th, 2002 10:50 pmFor a Monday, this was a pretty good day. Though the phone would simply NOT stop ringing! All day! Blah! Oh well, like I said, it was pretty good overall. Didn't get very far on the p/a's, but here's hoping that there won't be that many more between now and Wednesday. There! My last work thought for 24 hours, unless I end up having time to look at the coding class cd I brought home. Depends how tomorrow goes, really.
Came home and crashed for a bit in the bedroom, listening to RHCP's new album. I'm really enjoying that album. Then after dinner, decided to go with Mom to check out a house that Papa's Dad built back in the early '50s. Wasn't going to go, but my uncle had to cancel on her, and so did Papa, so it was going to be just me and Mom and Grandma. Get over to Grandma's and we're sorta freaking out because there's this bee in the back window...thought it was a bald headed hornet. However, once we were parked and looking at it (from the outside!), it actually was a reverse-colored yellow jacket (much more black, and not glossy really). Nasty, ill tempered bug. We finally got it out of the car, and then Grandma decided not to go as she wasn't feeling that great, and I was there for company for Mom. So, we go.
Get there and there's TONS of kids outside. But, they actually were nice and friendly. The couple of the house were sweet. She showed us all around and talked about the house, both the old parts that Great Papa built, and the stuff that she has refinished. It's absolutely beautiful, and sturdy. Too bad it's out of our budget, and not quite split up well enough to split with Heather and Michael. Oh well. Eventually we'll find something that works out well. It still was neat to get to see it, and meet some nice people. Too bad they're moving away, really. Why is it you never get to meet people when you could actually be friends with them? I mean, hard to say on just a bit of seeing someone like that, but we actually spent an hour and a half with them, and it wasn't terribly awkward, even. *sigh* Whatever.
Anyway, was going to get a cherry coke at Nina's but they were closed by the time we were leaving their house. So, went to DQ's instead. I think we must have had a new girl on the mike, because I asked for a banana split with blackberry instead of the pineapple. Not that terribly confusing, is it really? So she goes you want raspberry instead of pineapple? Uhm, no thanks, blackberry. Raspberry? heh. Blackberry! :) Ordered everyone else's, and when she does the wrap up, she says raspberry again, so at this point I just nod and say that'd be fine. I like raspberry anyway. :o) So, the sugar rush got me caught up with most of my email, pack yahoo and the majority of LJ. So, tomorrow, gotta finish LJ and the other yahoo. Gonna go sleep, now. ^__^
