Run for the Roses

For the first time in years I actually got to watch a fair amount of the Derby preshow and the actual race itself. Very fun! I really wish you could watch more races throughout the year, because you'd have a better idea of the horses in the race. Regardless, it was cool. And the occasional clip of races from years past was really awesome. Got to see Native Dancer and Citation, whoooo! Here's more on the race and the entrants. Funny Cide (Distorted Humor x Good Cide...his name is way cooler when you know the parentage) ended up winning the race--both the first gelding to win since 1929 and the first NY-bred horse to win. Way to go!

Nope, I haven't. Have you? One of these years I'd love to see the Derby and other horse related places there in Kentucky. Heather and I were talking about that on Saturday, and it's on our Must See list. It's one of those things--I actually think you get to SEE more on tv, but to BE there just once would just rock. ^___^

Nope... in the decade I've been here I've never seen it. I watched part of it on tv once.

hehe, that's okay. There's things here in town that people consider "necessary" to go to, and I've got utterly no interest in attending. Variety is the spice of life, after all! ^____^
