Finally got the pictures developed and scanned from the Tulip Festival. The name of the place is the Wooden Shoe Bulb Company, which is cute.

The first picture is just an overview of one of the fields...they basically had three main fields and then one off to the side. The third shot is of Mt. Angel behind the main field and the tents-it was so much more beautiful than the picture allows. The last two shots are of some of the daffodil boxes.

Pretty.
We have these fields up in the Skagit valley. There used to be some around Puyallup but they're slowly turning into subdivisions. Its a shame.

Thanks.
That's too bad about the fields lost to the subdivisions. So sad to lose such beauty.

Good angle for the first, and I liked the fourth as well. I think the last one is an example of macro hurting a little more than helping (to me) - the pic would've done more for me if the flowers behind the first few were more in focus, and it looks like the lighting's a bit weird. The one focused on the best is also the one in shade.

Thanks for your comments. I'll have to remember to keep a closer eye on the lighting and focusing like you mentioned in that last one. Get more concerned about staying out of the line of other people to think about that sometimes. *G*

I hear that. ;-) Sometimes it can't be helped, but many times I guess I just check the focus and lighting without a second thought.

You may also want to play around with the flash, even if the lighting seems good - especially when it's in shade. Often, it'll really bring out the subject.

Using the flash in spite of it being a bright day was what got me the clarity of that hummingbird shot I took in March. Where I was shooting, the house blocked the sun so it was in shade, and without the flash the shutter speed would've been slower. I could've still got a good shot of the flowers, but I wanted it brighter.

Very beautiful. I think I like the last two the best. But I love to shoot flowers anyways.
