Short version: It took me three hours, but I got the raised bed all planted and more flowers planted along the side of the house, and then front and back watered. Sheesh.

First thing I did this morning was take Nate for a quick jaunt around the neighborhood. My housemate told me that the place with the really nice garden in their front yard has a dragon, but so far I have not spotted the dragon. Either they've gotten rid of it or there's another house in the area with the whole front yard as a garden. Speaking of that, Jerry's has a dragon statue for a small pond that I'm tempted to get for my garden. I'll have to price it before deciding.

I'm hoping that everything is spaced just right and will grow up healthy and happy. We'll see. I'm going to list in detail what I planted, because I really don't want to save all the little seed packets. Well, detailed on the seeds. I'm not going outside for the details on the plants so that'll be more general. Operation: Declutter is in progress afterall. ;D

Raised bed:
Two lettuces: one a red leaf type and one a heirloom butter/leafy type. Seascape strawberries (everbearing). Panther cauliflower, which I didn't realize would be a lime colored cauliflower when I bought it..pale lime, so it shouldn't be too weird. hehe. Packman broccoli. Black Plum tomato plant and Gold Nugget cherry tomato plant. The pumpkins said that some flowering plants help draw the bees for pollination, so I planted a Zinnia, a pink carnation and an african daisy in the area. Oregano.
Then the seeds:
Carrots: Dragon. 75 days. Deep purple exterior and vivid yellow-orange core. Sweet & slightly spicy. Picture(scroll down).
Radishes: Easter Egg II. 28-32 days. Equal blend of Snow Belle, Ruby and Plum Purple radishes for a rainbow salad.
Pumpkins:
Jack Be Little. 105 days. Short 5 foot vines produce 6-12 fruits 3-4 inches across. Attractive as decorations and as sweet as winter squash when cooked.
Small Sugar. 110 days. Heirloom variety develops 4-6 round 7" diameter tasty wonders on 6 foot vines. The finest flavor and texture for making mouth-watering pies. (Hmm. May have to try a pie with this one!)
Sunflowers:
Infrared Mix. If you like your sunflowers red, this hybrid will knock your socks off! Reaches a height of 6 feet.
The Joker. Colors of red, brown, gold and all the bicolors in between create a literal blanket of color in your garden. Grows to 6 feet.
The Joker and Infrared are both on this page. I can see that next year Red Sun, Cinnamon Sun and Chocolate Cherry are MUST haves. :o)
Jade. The first lime green sunflower! Single, 3-4 inche blooms on 4 foot tall plants.

I think that was it in the raised bed. I planted a couple of fuschia starts and the outback sunrise plant (though, that may be the wrong name as I can't find it online for a picture. will check later.) in a hanging basket. Filled up my new hummingbird feeder and moved the seed feeder out by the raised bed. Also have a cute little bird bath to go with the feeders. Bird Haven coming up. :o)

Along the front I planted some pretty little dahlias, some impatiens, and a silver edges primrose. There were many plants, but I think those were the only varieties. I can't wait to see what they all look like once they've grown a bit and are all blooming. *happy*
