More BPAL reviews. Dum de dum dum. :o)
Phobos - Twin to Deimos and child of War, Phobos is the embodiment of terror and mortal fear. Chilling white musk, lemon verbena, white grapefruit and lemongrass. This was a freebie in with a swap, and it was a very pleasant surprise! Very sharp and citrusy, and just a lovely brisk scent. Unfortunately, it's completely gone in an hour. Still, that first hour is nice enough I may swap out my Envy and just keep this one instead. *happy sigh*
Grandmother of Ghosts - Mania, Roman Goddess of the Dead, Matron of Madness, Governess of the Ancestral Spirits, Bestower of Divine Frenzy. Her scent swirls with a high-pitched tumult of laurel, stargazer lily, splintered woods, peony, mandarin and white musk, and is spiked with pale pepper. This was absolutely lovely when first applied - sharp and sweet. This one lasted longer than Phobos, but after the two hour mark it turned kind of sour. Will have to test again, because I'd almost rather it just disappear than turn sour and if it keeps doing that I may have to swap it out. :\
Mad Hatter - A gentlemen's lavender-citron cologne unhinged by the feral pungence of black musk and a paroxysm of pennyroyal. I didn't get 'gentleman's scent' out of this, but then again, I actually enjoyed wearing some men's colognes in the past (Gravity and Cool Water were both very nice! At least I think Cool Water was the correct name.) Err, anyway. The Mad Hatter is a very yummy scent. Like so many of the other Alice scents, though, it doesn't last very long. It's already up in my swap pile, so I must have decided that I preferred Phobos. ;D
The Scales of Deprivation - And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. lemon peel, white sage, frankincense, lavender fougere, sandalwood, vetiver and labdanum. I had a hard time deciding what to say about this one - fascinating! It's a very "pale" scent but a very nice one. More testing must be done. Yum. :o)
Ave Maria Gratia Plena - A pale, delicate, truly angelic blend. Rosewood with Sicilian lemon peel, red Mysore sandalwood, pale musks, sweet mountain sage and a dusting of lily, night-blooming jasmine and orris. This is such a pretty scent. It's rather a combination of the gorgeous florals in Bearded Lady and the joyous sunshine of Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo. I can't decide which one of the sunny ones lasts on me the best, so I'll keep testing and comparing the imps. May have to end up buying a bottle of this one, though, as it's such a pretty summery scent.
Sea of Glass - Upon the Sea of Glass, glowing with the perfection of spiritual union and the radiance of true wisdom, rests the throne of God. A scent of inimitable purity, crystalline grace, and limitless light. I have only a tiny bit of this one for testing, but the first try was very pretty. This one reminds me of Hymn - very pure and uplifting. May have to try an actual imp of this one in the future.
