These are from almost two weeks ago. New ones pending. :o)

Fire Eater - A glowing red and flickering scent: warm, lurid, seductive. Mmm, this is lovely! Just like a camp fire - warm and inviting. Granted, I rather like the BPAL smoky scents (Dragon's Hide and Djinn especially). This is different than both of those - more of a clean fire rather than the smoky fire. Don't know that I'll get more of this one, but I'll happily keep this imp.

Medicine Show - A veritable miracle, I tell you! A scent that soothes the spirit and stimulates both the libido and the mind: tobacco, balsam, ginger, elemi and rosewood, with a touch of opium to fuddle your senses. Well, this one is interesting. Tobacco is the one that seems the strongest, yet this isn't like smelling someone's cigar or cigarette. It is layered with a very clean scent, and is a pretty combination. I can't stop smelling this one, but I can't decide if it's because I like it or because I'm trying to think what it reminds me of that I don't like. :o) Maybe it is cigarette tobacco that isn't lit yet. EDIT: This one is still really intriguing after a couple of hours. 2nd Edit: Lasted until the next morning, so I'll be giving this one another go. heh.

Nyx - Named in honor of the primeval Greek Goddess of Night. A scent reflecting inky black skies and eternal desolation. Night-blooming jasmine, warmed by myrrh, lifted by the promise of rose. Inky black skies is an apt description - this is a dark scent. It's probably me, but I'm not able to separate out any of these scents and I don't really care for the really dark and oppressive scent. Maybe if it separated out a bit more for me I'd get the warmth of the myrrh and the brightness of the rose, but instead it's all just murky.

Peony Moon - The year is ended, and it only adds to my age;
Spring has come, but I must take leave of my home.
Alas, that the trees in this eastern garden,
Without me, will still bear flowers.
~Peony, plum blossom, water reeds and soft Asian woods.
This is quite beautiful! A very asian/reedy scent like Dragon Moon, but the floral is definitely there as well. I'm not that familiar with what peony smells like, but this is a really light and beautiful scent. Faded really fast after the first hour though.

Scarecrow - An agricultural gargoyle. Though he is the Guardian of the Crops and Keeper of the Fields, his visage is still the stuff of nightmares. The scent of a hot wind blowing through desolate, scorched, barren fields. This starts out with the sharp, bitter scent of ash. Mellows out into an interesting scent but it's not really one I want to wear on my skin. I may try it as a room scent now that we're getting into autumn weather.

Juliet - Sweet pea with stargazer lily, calla lily, heliotrope, honeysuckle, white musk and a touch of fresh pear. Mmm, this one is beautiful! All floral and super sweet. The lily is strongest but it's toned down by all the other aspects of it. Really quite beautiful. I'll have to see if I can get some more of this one for this spring! Juliet has also lasted a couple of hours which is really nice for a floral on me.

The Cracked Bell - How bittersweet it is, on winter's night,
To listen, by the sputtering, smoking fire,
As distant memories, through the fog-dimmed light,
Rise, to the muffled chime of churchbell choir.

Lucky the bell -- still full and deep of throat,
Clear-voiced despite its years, strong, eloquent --
That rings, with faithful tongue, its pious note
Like an old soldier, wakeful, in his tent!

My soul lies cracked; and when, in its despair,
Pealing, it tries to fill the cold night air
With its lament, it often sounds, instead,

Like some poor wounded wretch -- long left for dead
Beneath a pile of corpses, lying massed
By bloody pool -- rattling, gasping his last.

A winter’s horror: smoke and stillness, faded incense and the metallic tang of blood.

This is semi-subtle but really quite beautiful. This is a scent that makes you feel like lighting a fire and curl up in front of it to read a book. The incense really is a nice touch to the smoke and what I would guess is dragon's blood.
