I went to ebay simply to see if now was a good time to sell some of my models...whoops! evilbay, indeed. *G* But, it does look like now is a good time so I need to get organized and get some up for sale. Makes me sad to get rid of some of them, but I do dearly need the space and the money. We shall see how it goes, I've only been a buyer on there before.

Reminds me of Fiona's Criminal song...I've been a bad, bad girl... lol. But it's so much FUN to buy!!! I'm hoping it's equally fun to sell!! Because not only am I wanting to sell some things, but I think my best friend is going to sell her baby's outgrown clothes and stuff through my name, since I've got an established ebay name. So, hopefully it will be fun! :o)

Do not sell your models now!

This is the WORST MARKET EVER. I have SR Breyers in mint condition going for $7.00! ACK! And they really kill you on the seller fees. Of course, after Breyerfest is even worse because no one has money, so I don't know when would be a better time. And maybe no one has bid on mine because my auctions end in two days and they're waiting till the last minute, but still... I sold a Molokai a couple of weeks ago for $41.00. I paid $65.00 for that horse! Eeeep.

Before you list them to eBay, you should post your list to the model exchange to see if anyone there is interested. And send it to me, because I'm always looking. :-)

O.o

Thank you SO MUCH for the warning! The few I looked at looked decent, so I'm thankful to have a better idea of the market. As a buyer, that's a wonderful price for a Molokai, but I certainly can understand why you wouldn't like to sell one for that price! Hope your others get picked up a little higher before they sell.

Is that the Model Exchange on Yahoo Groups? I signed up on that one when I got my first big name resin, and I've still got my membership. And I'd be happy to let you have the list! Thanks for asking. Man, now I really got to get organized and get it ready! LOL. I have such a hard time letting go of any of them - I mean, I bought them because I adored them, you know?? But my tastes have changed a bit and my herd hasn't changed with them... *sigh*

Thank you again! :o)

Yep, that's the group on Yahoo. It's the one with a billion messages per day - model-exchange.

Oooh... what resin was that, if you don't mind my asking? Are you planning to sell any resins?

:::drool::: There's always a good market for resins, though, so you shouldn't have a problem selling them. Your average, not-great-showing Breyers and Special Run Stones (but not Regular Run Stones, which sell for decent prices. Go figure.) have seen their values plummet. There really hasn't been a great model market for the past 18 months. Ick.

Good luck getting together your list! It was really tough for me to decide what to sell. Both times, I ended up selling my more "showable" models because, ironically, they were the ones that appealed to me the least. I kept all of my childhood buddies, most of whom are really rubbed and beat up, and sold off the newer horsies that I'm less attached to. I still hang on to my ISHs, my Huck Beys, my Shams, my Secretariats, and my Classic TBs, though. They're my favorites. :-)

Yeah, they're mighty busy! I stopped trying to keep up with it ages ago...basically I'm down to two groups that I read regularly. lol. Oh well, it'll be worth the time when I get my list together.

I don't mind you asking! I got my pinto Bowie resin off the list...I LOVE him! He's so sweet. And no, I'm not selling any resins...I'd rather sell half my herd at $10 a pop to good homes than get rid of any of them. LOL. They're *so* expensive, I dearly have to love them to get them!

I went slightly (Okay, a lot!) insane last year and splurged on several resins. Bought the Bowie, a lovely chestnut SM Friesian (I forget right now which resin name he is...arrgh), and a gorgeous, gorgeous chestnut Bear drafter. (Evilbay! Those last two. LOL) I need pictures of all of them still, though, went into a showing slump after spending a small fortune on the horses! lol. Nuts. I "bought" an adorable TB resin too, but I still haven't heard back from her on her readiness....will have to write her soon, because it's been almost a year, I think. :(

Anyway, I can't sell any of them. lol. I do understand what you mean about selling some of your more 'showeable' ones - they're flashy and fun and catch your eye, but they're not the ones that always stick in your heart. :o) I absolutely love my mustangs and can't bear to sell many of them, even though they're not necessarily that 'pretty' or whatnot. They've got character. And I absolutely love the classic TB's - my favorite is Swaps. And the USET horses, even if they're not technically in the group you first think of as the TB's...you know? hehe.
