hehe. I think that I have a chicadee and a tiny goldfinch trying to get the nerve up to try out the new birdfeeder. YAY!!! I heard this chirping noise out my window, and saw this tiny bird - at first I thought it was a hummingbird, but it didn't move or buzz like a hummingbird. It looks like a pale gold (the sun is behind it so I can't see super well), so I'm guessing it's just a small goldfinch. Anyway, that's cool they're finding the new feeder!

I've always meant to look at the can art and keep forgetting. They don't have that much up in their gallery, but their "permanent" gallery is kind of cool.

Yay for birdies! I get chickadees - they are the cutest little things, and love it when I put out walnuts. I once had a teeny chickadee try to fly away with a whole walnut half!

Chicadees are utterly adorable! I would love to see one try to take half a walnut! whoo! Super-Bird!

I think it's funny that all the bird books say the little birds (chicadees and finches, esp) like the small seed, whereas at our old place they wanted the sunflower seeds just like the big birds! I ended up just getting sunflower seeds after a while, because they'd all kick out the little stuff. ^___^

Sunflower seed is the most popular nosh at Chez Crystal, too. I just buy the hulled sunflower chips (less mess) and that keeps the widest range of my customers happy. The finches are supposed to like thistle seed or "nyjer" but mine prefer sunflower seed!

Oooh, I'm going to have to try to find hulled sunflower chips around here - less mess would be absolutely wonderful! I think I'm going to be moving back into the country and will get to set up a real bird station again. Yay!!
