Just had to share this gorgeous tattoo - based on a peacock, but it's not realistic in that sense. Absolutely beautiful colors and a vibrant tattoo. Wow.

This one has a phoenix, and Max from Where the Wild Things Are! (The pics are in lj's scrapbook, so you can see larger versions if you wish)

Neat werewolf. (The poster said not safe for work, but I don't see any in this particular post that are offensive...)

This one does have some NSFW pieces. Personally, I love the constellation/pyramid tattoo. Wow. The skeleton right beneath it is cool. The ponies...not sure I like the placement at all. Neat to see some pretty horse related tattoos though. the turtles and the last comic one is neat.
Okay, enough perusing for now. ^___^

Date: 2007-07-17 03:26 am (UTC)From:I think the biggest reason that I've held off on getting a tattoo for so long is that I love all sorts of art and different subjects and can never decide which one I want for a lifetime. lol. The one that I'm currently contemplating kind of scares me simply because it's going to have to be fairly big and I'm not sure that I'm up for it. Hmmm. *ponders some more*

Date: 2007-07-19 12:51 am (UTC)From:Actually, I happened to notice the art on my bathroom mug and realized that the tattoo may not have to be that big. Depending on the artist, anyway. I need to take the time to find some pieces that evoke the mood and look that I want and then check out some of the local shops, I guess. Because my art skills simply aren't up to par for a lifetime piece. lol.
I've been considering what sort of tattoo to pick for the last few years: dragons, panthers, wolves, all the regular obsessions. But I'm seriously leaning towards a unicorn head (a side view or a slightly looking front view) so that on one side the luxurious mane spills out in waves and on the other side a star gazer lily (or two) balances out the weight of the entire piece. So it's sort of a triangle shaped tattoo and will be in the small of my back. I don't wear my jeans low so it won't be one of those peekaboo tattoos. *G*
Now the trick is finding an artist who is good with equines and flowers, and saving up for it.
Thank you for letting me ramble!! I haven't typed it out before, so it's kind of cool to see it in print instead of just in my head. ^___^
