Amazing the wonders Advil, a nap and some food will do. And, of course, purring cats. *G* Maybe I'll make some cocoa in a bit and warm up as well.
Ack! Why do I always forget to go to the expanded section first?? Good thing copy/paste works. *G*
Ok. Trying out something new, so as not to take up tons of space on the outside of the journal:
I'm looking forward to joining you, finally
as black as the night can get
everything is safer now
there is always a way to forget
once you learn to find a way how
in the blur of serenity
where did everything get lost?
the flowers of naivete
buried in a layer of frost
the smell of sunshine
i remember sometimes
thought he had it all before they called his bluff
found out that his skin wasn't thick enough
wanted to go back to how it was before
thought he lost everything
then he lost a whole lot more
a fool's destination
swallowed up in a empty space
the tear of regret
frozen to the side his face
the smell of sunshine
i remember sometimes
i've done all i can do
could i please come with you?
the smell of sunshine
i remember sometimes
*~*~
I love that song. The bit about sunshine just hits home, for some reason. And not for the logical reason..I'm familar with sunshine and not a morose person, by any stretch of the imagination. heh. Even so, I love songs that are depressing if you go by lyrics alone, yet somehow transend that and become more than simply depressing when the music/vocal emotion is added. Not that they become cheerful, but they do become powerful and in motion.
