Well, certainly didn't make it to 50 this year. But did read some really fabulous books! Will try again for 2009. :o)

Ages and ages ago, I loved reading the "People of the..." books by Kathleen O'Neal Gear and W. Michael Gear. Epic and usually sad, they're one of those types of books that you almost can't bear to read because it hurts, but they're so rich and fascinating you can't put them down. Stopped reading them years ago, not really sure why. Discovered they had a new Puebloan series out (well, new is relative. The first one is from 1999!) and picked them up this year. OMG, absolutely amazingly wonderful. Creepy as all get out in moments, that's for sure. They're so good with making fascinating characters. The books are: The Visitant, The Summoning God, and Bone Walker. This trilogy stays strong the whole way through, and is a terrific mix of old and new stories interspersed through each other. I'm going to have to re-collect the People of books now.

New favorite author: Sue Henry. I think I'd written about Dead North before, and on one of Borders big buy3/get1 free things I picked up more of hers. *G* This year I've read Murder on the Iditarod Trail, Deadfall, and Murder on the Yukon Quest. Jessie Arnold is a good lead character, and her lead dog (Tank) is a lovely character as well. ^,,^

Must say that reading on the second half of your lunch hour isn't as satisfying as reading half a book at once, but it is very enjoyable to get to relax away from work and that damn phone and to actually get to read!

I've only read a couple of Sue Henry's books, but I LOVE Tank. He's such an appealing dog. But then, I AM a dog person, so some might say I'm biased. :)

I followed you here from t-rex. Is it okay if I friend you?

LOL. I have enjoyed our cats over the years, but I will confess to being more of a dog person too. *G* Tank is absolutely wonderful!

That would be fabulous! New friends are always welcome. Please be aware that last year's postings were few and far between, but one of my non-budget/trex goals is to be more regular with actual posting. So please ignore the sparseness. ^__^

btw-Max is a cutie! She's the only one with a pic on your first page, and it's an adorable one!

Yay! Regular posting is one of my t-rex goals, too, so it sounds like we're in the same boat on that. :)

Thank you! My pups are my babies, and they are, hands-down, what I take the most pictures of.

Oh, yay! Nice to meet others in the same boat, y'know? lol.

You're welcome! I'm looking forward to seeing your other two in the future then! My pictures tend to be our animals and landscapes.

I have the feeling that you didn't screen the comment, it was probably something my journal did. I've made my journal friends only by default, and maybe that makes it screen 'public' entries. Dunno. Weird!

btw-did you screen your comment? Or did it automatically screen your comment when you posted it? Just wondering, because I don't know why it did it if you didn't. *G*

I don't think I screened it, but I'm still sort of an eljay newb, so there's a distinct possibility that I did and just don't realize it. :/
