A Prayer for the Stressed
Jan. 14th, 2002 12:34 pmhehe, a friend shared this poem. Very timely with all that's going on. And...my friend's computer has the lovely habit of signing itself on at random times. Stupid thing!! Thank goodness I cam over here for lunch to turn it off. Ugh.
A Prayer for the Stressed
Grant me the serenity to accept the things that I
cannot change, The courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill today because they got on my nerves.
And also, help me to be careful of the toes I step on today as they may be connected to the feet I have to kiss tomorrow.
Help me always give 100% at work and school:
12% on Monday
23% on Tuesday
40% on Wednesday
20% on Thursday
and 5% on Friday
And help me to remember---
When I am having a bad day and it seems that people are trying to wind me up... It takes 42 muscles to frown, 28 to smile, and only 4 to extend my arm and smack someone in the mouth!

Weird quiz thingy, and some quotes
Jan. 14th, 2002 08:55 pmFood for Thought: "I rarely take days off, but there's always an option if I really dread the thought of running. I use the old trick of saying, 'I'll head out for only ten minutes, and if I still feel lousy, I'll come home.' Of course, I always feel fine after ten minutes!" ~Long distance runner Gordon Bakoulis, Running for the Soul, as reported in Cooking Light.
Hmm. That's a nice outlook. I shall endeavor to adopt it. *G*
